1. What is LEED?
LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) is a certificate for green buildings issued by the US Green Building Council (US Green Building Council) begin in 1995 in the US. This is the first international standard on building energy- saving project and protecting human living environment. LEED is an internationally recognized and validated system of green architecture standards for buildings that provides third parties and certification that a building or public property is designed and built base on standards that aim to improve efficiency, energy saving, drainage efficiency, CO2 emission reduction, improvement of living environment quality, resource management and the building's flexibility to adapt to change.


2. How does a project qualify for LEED?
To have LEED certification, projects need to comply with the standards of energy saving to create a green environment such as increasing drainage efficiency, reducing emissions, improving living environment quality, increasing the adaptability of the building to environmental changes and optimal use of renewable energy sources. In addition, in order to achieve certificates of different levels such as Silver, Gold or Platinum certificates, projects need to meet the criteria of the LEED evaluation system that registered for its project.
